Let Me Walk With You Through The Pedestrian

In the story, “ The Pedestrian,” Ray Bradbury has this corrupt experience one night as he walked through the city.  As he walked through the city he get pulled over and was asked by a artificial intelligence police car to get in side the car. He must have felt really confused and agitated  at the moment because he hadn’t done anything wrong but just walk the streets. The author was also trying to explain how we need to be wary of technology because in the story nobody socializes anymore, everyone is stuck on their phone that no one interacts anymore.
The tone in the story was very lonesome, it made me feel like society was so different from how it is in today’s modern world. He gave me this feeling by explaining into deep detail on how the streets of Los Angeles were dark and quiet, he explained everything so in depth that I felt as if I was in the story experiencing everything with him. This was set up by the fact that technology has pretty much taken over everyone’s lives and it was so rare for someone to be walking the streets at night.
In the Pedestrian Ray Bradbury was trying to explain the wary of technology, and how it would affect us in the up coming years. What I learned from this character was that he was self conscious of how the world was at that time and he knew exactly why the police car had stopped him as he walked the streets. The character also gave the audience something to relate to because when he got pulled over he acted the same way as if someone in today’s day would’ve acted.
The plot in the story is it when Leonard Mead goes on a long walk one evening. As he was walking he gets questioned by a cop on what was he authority that evening (as in what was he doing walking the streets at that time.) He responds with, “ I’m putting one foot in front of the other.” In the story and in today’s modern day a cop would not want to hear something like that and would become very frustrated and angry. The cop repones with more attitude and keeps questioning him until Mr. Mead was asked to get into the police car.
In conclusion, the overall story was amazing and really put out the awareness of the wary of technology and how it would affect us in the future.
